DR. OTIS R. BOWEN VETERANS HOUSE

Dr. Otis R. Bowen Veterans House, also known as The Indy Vets House on Cold Spring Road in Indianapolis, is operated by Roudebush VA Medical Center. It is a "home away from home" for hospitalized veterans, veterans receiving extended outpatient medical care as well as for their family members. It features 28 fully furnished rooms with private wheelchair-accessible bathrooms, a modern fully equipped kitchen and dining area, laundry, and recreation rooms. The house is available for veterans who are hospitalized or need extended outpatient care and their families who live 50 miles or more from the hospital. It doesn't cost anything to stay there. It is made possible by a generous grant from the Lilly Endowment and donations.

On behalf of the Department, President Roxy has met with the Home's Board of Directors. They have some ideas they are working on for my project this year and as soon as we hear back from them, we will announce The President's Project for the year.
