Helping Our Veterans Find Their Voices

Through the Gift of Art

National Veterans Creative Arts Festival

to check out NVCAF Facebook page.

The Department of Veterans Affairs medical facilities use creative arts as a major form of helping rehabilitate Veterans who are receiving treatment and working to recover from and cope with physical and emotional disabilities.   Creative Art Therapy can allow returning soldiers a great outlet to process and cope with their experiences and often offer a lifesaving skill.   Creative Arts therapy helps the veterans deal with expression, memory recall, strengthen emotional sharing, help with physical rehabilitation to regain damaged motor skills.

The festival exhibits talents in painting, music, writing, dance, and other areas from Veterans who served in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.    The week long event displays the work from 120 talented gold winning veterans from across the country.  These veterans have already participated in an creative arts therapy event at their local VA hospitals.

The Auxiliary helps by volunteering hours of their time to the festival annually.   The ALA helps by assisting veterans with art projects, erecting displays, funding travel and support for the veterans, to supporting publicity, to provide productions and donate developmental materials.

How You Can Help

Help our veterans today by being a supporter of these great therapeutic benefits of the arts.  It is a great way to help contribute to National Veterans Creative Arts Festival and to recognize the talents and accomplishments of these veterans.
