How You Can Help in the Community

Children and Youth

Do you know a child or youth who needs to be recognized for positive actions?  Click on the link below to fill out form.

The American Legion Auxiliary has two special national awards that are set up to recognize and reward the positive actions of our children and youth.  The Units can choose to nominate a youth for their outstanding actions and achievements.

The Youth Hero Award recognizes someone less than 18 years of age who performs a heroic act of physical bravery.

The Good Deed Award is for youths 18 years of age or younger who have contributed in a special way to society through community service.

April is designated as Month of the Military Child

It was established to recognize the important role military children play in the armed forces community.

What are some of the ways your UNIT supports military kids? Does your UNIT have any Juniors activities each month?
Do you have any special events planned at your post to recognize these sacrifices and challenges these children face on a daily basis?

What are you doing to show these kids they aren't alone? Are you sharing that the American Legion Family has created a support system for them and their families? How do you honor their sacrifices and support them when facing challenges?
