The American Legion Auxiliary honors our patriotism. Americanism programs teach respect for our country and our nation’s flag. We put Patriotism to action and show how it is rooted deep within our lives by practicing it daily. The Auxiliary allows all Americans to take the opportunity to serve and show their appreciation for being born in this great nation. The Auxiliary provides learning opportunities and instructional resources such as learning about the Constitution, flying the flag on patriotic holidays, and flag etiquette. The Auxiliary is a member of the Citizens Flag Alliance and advocates for protection of the flag.
The Auxiliary helps teach principles of democracy to our youth. This organization helps promote many patriotic youth by offering the Auxiliary-sponsored Americanism Essay Contest. This contest is offered in local schools and helps teach a life long of patriotism and respect for what we hold dear –
our country and her flag.
